So the list continues! See the first part here.
5. The traffic lights doesn't make any sense.
Seriously. There's like four different lights lined next to each other and I still don't understand how the hell they are working. There's red, green, green for turning, lights off.. Every time I have a feeling I know how they work - something happens and I'm back to the beginning. Maybe they'll make sense after few months..
6. There's puppies on sale in the supermarket
I know it's common in many countries, but in Finland it isn't. It's so weird to see small puppies in small boxes looking at you. It's kind of sad. Dogs aren't something you buy while shopping for milk. They are part of your family, like other animals.
But maybe it's the culture. I think (and hope) people usually love their dogs really much, no matter where they have bought them.
7. Random people start talking with you.
When you are walking in the street, someone just stops you and starts talking. They start talking some random stuff. This has happen to me few times now and every time I have been alone. Those talks are really interesting.
I have learnt I have Mongolian ancestors. I have got some bible stuff to read - still haven't check them out.. And I have seen picture of some army guy whose girlfriend is in Denmark and heard how beautiful country Finland is. I'm looking forward for next conversation.
8. People use phones in metros even more than Finnish people.
Someone might disagree, but for me it really seems like it. Everyone is with their phone and doing something. One day I was the only one without phone in my hand and it was the rush hour. Sometimes I wonder how people get off on right stop, because they aren't looking or listening. Apparently they instinctively know where they are.
