First E-sport event

Olin suunnitellut meneväni katsomaan League of Legends-pelejä täällä Koreassa ollessani, mutta tajusin viikonloppuna, että kausi on täällä ohi ja seuraavat pelit ovat Euroopassa. Matkasin LoLin luvattuun maahan ja missasin matsit. Lohdutukseksi päätin lähteä katsomaan StarCraftia Joshin kanssa.

En ole ikinä pelannut Starcraftia, en edes katsonut yhtään ottelua. En siis tiennyt lainkaan, mihin olen ryhtynyt. Tapahtuma oli ilmainen, varauksia ei tarvittu ja pääsimme silti aivan eturiviin! Saimme myös englannin kielisen selostuksen, mikä oli positiivinen yllätys. En ymmärtänyt läheskään kaikkea, mitä otteluissa kävi, mutta vielä vähemmän olisin ymmärtänyt ilman selostusta.

Tunnelma paikalla oli huumaava, vaikka kyseessä ei ollut mikään suuri ottelu - ainakin oletan näin. Fanien kannustushuudot olivat hienoja, kunpa olisin itsekin osannut osallistua niihin. Pelit menivät todella tiukille, lopputuloksena KTRolsters voittivat 4-3 SBENUn. Todella nautinnollista katseltavaa.

Ei mulla muuta. Oli todella jees.
Ehkä mä pääsen joku päivä katsomaan myös LoLia.

I was planning to go see League of Legends games while I'm here in South Korea. But I realized the season is off and the next games are in Europe because the world championships are starting soon. What a pity, last year the worlds were here and now that I'm here.. It's in Europe. The irony.

For my comfort, I decided to go and see StarCraft with Josh. I have never played StarCraft, I have never even saw single game. So I had no idea what was going to happen. The event was free, no need for reservation and we still got seats in the front row! We also got English version of  commentary which was a really nice surprise. I didn't understand everything in the game, but I would have understood even less without commentary.

The atmosphere was stunning, cheering fans awesome and overall absolutely enjoyable event. Maybe some day I can also experience the LoL games. Can't wait.
